Classic GRM on on ITA Corolla

GRM staff....  anyone currently there...  when this was published???

Interesting we gave a shout-out to the SCCA top brass at the time; back in those days, the SCCA's official magazine had a suspicious habit of not running photos of cars with our stickers or cropping out our logos, and it was our understanding that came from the top club management. So much more enjoy modern times and our very good, very close relationship with them.

I had a chance to buy one of the TRD road race AE86 GTS cars back in the early 2000's for $4k. It would have been a major stretch financially(and bad decision), but the reason I backed out was primarily because there was no(easy/legal) way to make it street-legal, and I wasn't setup to tow a racecar.

Apparently we were viewed as too-close competitors to Sportscar.

Not a very logical attitude since SportsCar is not something you buy a subscription to; it only comes with an SCCA membership.

We never quite understood it. Good times.

I'd like to have a set of those wheels now.  Of course I would then have to buy a car to put them on. 

I still have some of my old AutoX magazines, good stuff!  Everything seemed so much easier then.
