Who can forget repsol honda's?

Back in the day I was always a huge fan of the IMSA Nissans.

This one needs no explanation and I'm offended that it hasn't made an appearance yet.

I also was a fan of the Miller liveried cars.

Much like racing itself I don't have a lot of favorites once you get past the late 80's early 90's.

Aug. 16, 2017 6:30 p.m.

And I'll add one more. In the off road world I was a fan of Walker Evans paint schemes.

A favorite from my younger days.

Aug. 16, 2017 8:38 p.m.

So, trying to come up with more modern favorites has been a little bit of a challenge. But I've got the Realtime racing colors

Never been a fan of yellow cars but the Corvette team certainly has made it iconic in the modern era.

The silver and red of Audi dominance for so many years at Le Mans.

Someday soon my rally Ranger will receive an old Ford Rallye Sport livery.

Also, this is my new favorite thread!

Gulf oil all the way for me.

It's so bad I bought this wallet from GTO Engineering at Retroauto last year:

A distant second is John Player Special

Really wasn't much to the livery, but Dan Gurney's American Eagle F1 car is about as pretty as it gets. It's a tossup with the Lotus 49 for me.

Got to give the tide cars and interstate batteries the nod for being instantly recognizable, but not necessarily the best looking. Was it Donahue that did the red, white, and blue AMCs back in the day? Those were classic too.

My favorite race liveries weren't on cars.

Aug. 17, 2017 12:20 a.m.

In motorcycle road racing the bikes and liveries are always changing. But for some the helmets are pretty much a constant. Here are a few of my favorites.

Bruce Anstey always has a flying Kiwi on the front of his

Joey Dunlop's iconic yellow helmet which he wore for three decades.

William and Michael Dunlop usually wear the white with black stripes similar to what their father Robert wore.

Lee Johsnton's pink helmets

Man I get way too into this stuff.
