81 mercury marquis. Had leftover speed parts from my capri on the 302 and a trac loc. Alot of good times in a car that ran 15.80s. Sold it too build my turbo mustang and the guy derbied it. I figured at 2k it went too a good home, turned out i was wrong, 2 door cars are allowed extra bracing on derbys. Mustang ran for a weekend before i parted it out and left the hobby for a few years.

Only one I really miss is this '91 D150 long bed. It went to scrap after a 440 swap was aborted. Biggest mistake I've been involved with because in reality it was way cleaner than my '89 D350 was. This was to be my first vehicle but the 3.9 V6 popped before I ever got my permit and the 440 swap never happened.

Oh where to begin.

1. 89 M3, sold it just as it's value tripled.  $8000

2.  78 Jeep CJ7 renegade 304 3 speed, sold to a friend for the body because he liked hid drivetrain better. $2500

3. 85 RX7, it was a really solid winter beater, sold it because someone else wanted it.  $1800

4. 1938 Fordor, 85hp flat head 70k miles all original and SOLID.  Sold it because I didn't have time to play with it.  FOR $2000

5. 1984 Grand National, the only year with inverted leather seats vs every other year.  It was too pretty for me to own with fresh paint down to the metal and a fresh motor.  $4500

6. Wagoneers 1986, black and wood, 1974 401 4 barrel,  former very nice $1500, latter ran great, $500.

I'll stop now, can't see to type through the tears.

I was hurt badly when a drunk driver hit me from behind while parked, I was out of work due to my injuries and had to sell both my mkiv supra and my 77 celica liftback. Dark time in my life.

Ouch...those things have skyrocketed in value in the past few years...

Ouch.  I think I would have stored it.  But back in 2004 who knew E30 M3 prices would sky-rocket like they have?

Back in 05, when I took orders overseas, the Military only authorized me to ship/store 1 car at Government expense. That meant that the Jeep Cherokee I shipped overseas was covered, but the M3 would have to be stored in Washington State in a climate controlled storage at a cost of a few hundred a month. By the time I would have made it back to the U.S., it would have been 48-72 months. Calculate in the dry-rot, damages, etc., I wouldn't have slept well.

Knowing what I know now, I would have kept it, but the worries of it being rotting in a storage.... I don't know..  At least I enjoyed it.

Kinda wished I'd kept my old '93 Eagle Talon 5sp, instead of selling it for $800 in 2003 or so because I thought I needed a small SUV to carry photo gear to events, and didn't know the joys of auto/rallycross yet.

But if I had to pick, it would still be my '79 Dodge Lil' Red Express truck.  (I sold it to in-laws when we got into $$ issues, with the intent to buy it back in a year or two.   They sold it without warning me to cover the mortgage on a rental property out of state when the tennants were late.)

poor timing in the middle of a move and I let my rust free 86 F150 go for peanuts when it broke down at the worst possible time.

I may have ended up selling it a few months later anyways but I still miss it.

I frequently have dreams where I still have my first car, a 1999 Ford Taurus Duratec.

It was a thoroughly mediocre car and my modifications were of dubious craftsmanship (although they worked, the car would run mid 15's all day long on a cool day, which was pretty impressive for a big run of the mill sedan in the early 2000's).

I would like a chance to drive it again just for old time's sake, but from a practical standpoint it would be stupid to have such a mundane car around that I would rarely want to drive.

Also, that exact car went to a Pick-A-Part in 2011 and was scrapped completely in 2012, so reacquiring my exact car would be impossible.

Sometimes I wish I bought back my first neon after my second deer hit. I could have junkyard sourced a hood, camo rattle canned it, and fixed the rest of the issues with the insurance pay out.

There are two I wish I still had.

A 1981 Toyota Corolla wagon, 1.8l, 5 speed. Red on tan.

1979 Ford Pinto. 2.3L OHC, 4 Speed.

Actually, three.

A 1978 Ford Fairmont. 200 I6.

No four.

1981 Chevy Malibu wagon, 229 V6.

Never mind, I want them all back.

Edit: Except the Stanza. I don't want that one back. I hated that berkeleying car. Like I still won't buy a Nissan product because of it.

A house with no garage and an inadequate driveway led me to selling my 1991 Nissan Sentra se-r.  I miss that car.
