Im going to look at a car i don't know if i want tomorrow with the intention of lowballing the hell out of it. 98 eclipse rs 5 speed.

I dont want another project right now, but can't seem to help myself.

I have too many projects and just started making progress again. Came across this and tried to buy it.

1st Gen MR2 bad transmission $850

1988 Toyota Mr2

cylinders: 4 cylinders
fuel: gas
odometer: 121775
title status: clean
transmission: manual

I'm selling my 1988 toyota Mr2. It runs and drives but is stuck in first gear. The motor runs strong, doesn't overheat, AC runs cold, never been in an accident straight body no rust decent paint. Used transmissions run about $500, a shop quoted me for $1200 for parts and labor to install. The car also needs a new distributor as it leaks oil from the o-ring seal on it. All in all its a solid car if you put in the necessary repairs. Pink in hand, taking offers

It was already sold but dammit I would have totally jumped.

I have no space here, Integra needs to be buttoned up and movable under it's own power so I can shuffle cars and dismantle the LS400 so we can start on his Celica, plus the MX6 is still languishing in bodywork purgatory. In my defense my son really wanted it.

I looked into trading my silverado for a saturn vue.

No offense, but that seems like a horrible idea. I guess the vue's can be ok, but I'm not a huge fan. Did a clutch on one once, I guess it wasn't the worst clutch, but still...

Me and this truck have a rough relationship lol. 2 days ago i would have traded it for damn near anything. I cant wait to sell this damn thing

Ever since I saw a Calvin and Hobbes comic where Calvin instructs his mother on how to maintain the maximum undisturbed surface of peanut butter by carefully digging down one side of the jar and then back up from underneath, I have tried to do the same thing.

So, a couple of hours ago, I was about to start a cranks/won't-start thread for the Escort. You know, the one that got it's nose punched in by a Toyota 1/2 ton pickup. Finished the last of the mechanicals this morning, turned the key, cranks strong but won't fire. Say a few cuss words, run inside to pull up GRM. Say to myself: "What could have broken to cause this in a 25 mph impact? Impact... impact... wait, what? IMPACT FUEL CUTOFF SWITCH... DOHH!!!!!!!!!!" Push reset button, fires on the first revolution of the crank blush

And then there was the time an Escort got towed in to the Major Regional Tire Retailer where young Knurled started his automotive career, where the frustrated owner, after changing a flat tire, POWERSLAMMED the flat into the trunk, and then discovered that his Escort wouldn't start.  We charged him for the new tire but didn't charge him for pushing the fuel pump kill switch reset.

It used to be a common prank at that business to slap a Ford product that someone else was working on.  A well-aimed open palmed slap on the quarter panel of a Taurus would reliably trigger the fuel pump cutoff.

It's Friday.  It's going to be a slow day in my little work bubble and I am working from home.  My wife stays home with our son.  My goal today is to share a moment with my son in secret so that I can rub it in her face later.

I'm not a vengeful person.  But i do hate coming home to  stories of his 1st this or 1st that every day.

Therapeutic Confession.

In 2004, when we were shopping for DW's car, we were looking at convertibles... and one under consideration was a 2004 GT Cruiser convertible in purple.

If we had bought it then, I'd have had to drive it to work today, and every day for the foreseeable future.  Assuming it still ran.  Bullet dodged.

I spent some time at the design school which Bryan Nesbitt graduated from. This was right after the PT Cruiser was released, and everyone at school thought it was the coolest. We had no idea at the time that it would become such a joke of a vehicle. I would like to have a philosophical discussion some time, about why this happened. The PT Cruiser Cruiser didn't change, so we must have.

PT cruisers are just a Neon SUV with funky fenders.  My older customers love their practicality, size and visibility.

I don't really understand the abuse they get.  Given the choice of styling between a PT and most any Cute Ute on the market today... Picture a PT beside a Juke and tell me which is weirder.
