Hilton Head Announces Expansion and New Concours Location

The Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance has announced a new venue for the Hilton Head Island portion of the Festival.

The Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance has announced a new venue for the Hilton Head Island portion of the Festival. The annual Concours d’Elegance, scheduled for November 2 – 3, 2013, will move to Port Royal Golf Club, a member of the prestigious Heritage Golf Group collection of top U.S. courses.

“Hilton Head Island is one of America’s favorite resort destinations and the area’s five-star facilities, wealth of recreational choices, history, fine dining and coastal climate all provide an exceptional Concours event environment,” said Carolyn Vanagel, the Festival’s President.

The Concours d’Elegance caps off an entire week’s worth of events and experiences for individuals who are passionate about wheels, bikes and even hulls. The 2013 Festival will offer events both in Savannah, GA and Hilton Head Island, SC. Last year, over 14 thousand automotive collectors, club members and everyday enthusiasts attended the Hilton Head Island Motoring Festival & Concours d’Elegance.

Recently ranked among the “Top 10 Best U.S. Islands” by Conde Nast readers, the easily-accessible barrier island located off the Atlantic Coast of South Carolina offers everything for the perfect getaway including over 12 miles of pristine white sand beaches, 24 golf courses and more than 250 restaurants. Plus, the first weekend in November offers the perfect setting for automotive enthusiasts from all over the United States with high temperatures averaging in the low 70s.

“Making the move to a venue that offers top-notch resort amenities, including three 18-hole golf courses, oceanfront accommodations, beach, tennis, croquet and conference/special event facilities, allows us to beautifully meet both consumer and corporate sponsor needs,” said Vanagel. “The event has grown significantly each year, and we’re thrilled to now offer an entirely new portfolio of exhibit, hospitality and entertainment choices.”

Port Royal Golf Club, situated on the northeastern point of the Island in Port Royal Plantation, has been praised for its unrivaled golf experience, recently being named among the “Top 75 U.S. Golf Resorts” by Golf Digest Magazine. Nestled nearby is one of the island’s top resorts, The Westin Hilton Head Island Resort & Spa. Currently undergoing a complete $30 million renovation, scheduled to be completed in April of 2013, the oceanfront Westin will offer Festival attendees world-class accommodations.

Tickets for the 2013 Motoring Festival will be available for sale online starting spring 2013, just in time for Father’s Day.
