Classic Motorsports Car Catcher: Series 3 Spider

Remember our Alfa Romeo Spider comparison from the November 2015 issue of Classic Motorsports? Did you decide which generation suited you best? If it was the third generation, today is your lucky day. Leadfoot Muscle Cars is selling this 1988 Alfa Romeo Spider for $12,500. That’s a little less than #2 value, according to Hagerty.

I've owned several of those in the past, all with fond memories. Easy to live with and oh so easy to drift the tail out. With the Bosch injection, they were much easier to maintain than the carbed or Spica versions I owned at the same time. For a driver Alfa that still has the feel of the earlier cars, they are hard to beat.

I do prefer the early S3's that have the twin binnacle dash. You get the reliability of the Bosch motor, starts every time, the better rustproofing, and it still retains the classic interior look.
