McCall’s Motorworks Revival, or The Jet Party, as most insiders call it should be on every car person’s bucket list. Yes, at more than $400 for a five-hour party it’s a bit expensive, and yes, it’s a bunch of rich people showing off a bit, but it really is hella fun to see this much eye candy in just one night.
From the World War II-era plane as you walk in, to the various supercars and race cars you see as you stroll around with a cocktail and see old friends and meet new ones, this is one of the coolest things to do in Monterey during Car Week and certainly a guilty pleasure.
Not surprisingly, security was bumped up more than usual, but once through that, it was champagne and caviar—for those that were used it on a regular basis and those who were not.
Crowds did seem a little thinner this year, especially later in the evening, as the full moon cast an enchanting glow (or was it the wine?) on the entire proceedings.
The pictures tell the story like no words can, so enjoy and try to put this on your calendar next year.
