Spent today walking Beaulieu Autojumble. Definitely the best swap meet I have ever been to. Found Lotus, Mini parts and even an Aquaplane head for our Tornado Typhoon.

I need a k'niftkin pin for the rear suspension for my Spitfire. I was told the only place you can find a replacement is at the Autojumble ... from the Queen herself. But seriously, I'd think that whatever one needs is available through suppliers or brokers, precluding a trip overseas. But I suppose the experience of being there would be priceless.

I love swap meets and always wanted to see this one. The fact that I picked up $1500 worth of stuff, that I was about to buy any way, for about $200, is icing on the cake.

This weekend we are at Goodwood. Totally blown away. This has got to be the coolest vintage event I have ever seen. The whole place is like a movie set. You go back in time. And the cars... Ever seen 20 fifties Ferraris all racing at once? I saw a row of eight D type Jag and five C Types next to them. All six Daytona Coupes, along with designer and CMS contributor, Peter Brock with them. Truly an amazing show. You need to put this trip on your bucket list. You can easily pay for it with all the money you save at Beaulieu (ya right)

Yep, I'm going....Someday! I was just up at The Glen for the Vintage Festival and visited with a fellow that had a Continuation 7000 series Cobra Daytona Coupe. It was sitting in the Concours but wasn't much prepped for the Concours because he races it regularly and it even had chucks of rubber stuck all over it. We talked of the other six that were all at Goodwood. I saw the one at the Simeone Museum in Philadelphia. Unrestored, but "Bring 'em like you drive 'em" that's my motto. Dave.

I watched one of the Goodwood races earlier today via streaming. A bunch of Cobras, a few Corvettes and a few others got comprehensively thrashed by a blindingly fast E-Type. Unfortunately the lone Tiger, one of the 3 Lister Tiger coupes that ran at LeMans, rolled to a stop 3 minutes from the end, after an otherwise honorable performamce. IIRC, this was the ex-Syd Silverman car that I saw at Lime Rock and elsewhere several times.

It was really great to see lots of clean well executed passing in this race, without any running each other off the course, etc.
