Our Innocenti Is Doing Okay

After a slight detour through Carlisle, Pennsylvania, for the Carlisle Import & Kit Nationals , our 1971 Innocenti Mini Cooper arrived in Holland, Michigan, home of Eclectic Motorworks.

Carl Heideman and crew are going to give the car some loving as, sadly, it had been sitting on the sidelines for a while. His initial prognosis? Not bad at all:

We put a jumper pack on the Mini last night and it fired up after about 4 tries. It stinks of old gas, but fortunately only has 1/4 tank to burn off. We’ll get it down to 1/8, then put some fresh in. Hopefully the battery will come back with a gentle charge on a smart charger.”

He also adds that the car rides well and is fairly quick—and that’s before any sorting.
