We’ve been chatting with some friends about how much a 2002tii weighs versus some of the earlier non-fuel-injected models. We used our Longacre Racing corner weighting scales to settle the argument.
With half of a tank of gas and no spare tire or tools on board, our 2002 weighed in at 2205 pounds. We’re expecting the car to shed about 100 pounds or so as we transform it into an autocrosser. That weight reduction will come from lighter wheels, seats and even battery. Our goal is close to the 1-ton mark.
