Archeological Digging

When dealing with an older car, part of the fun is uncovering its history. Famous race record? Interesting past owners? Any TV or movies appearances?

In the case of our 1975 Pontiac Safari Catalina, we knew the ownership history, since we’re only the second owners. The car also came with a stack of repair receipts dating back to early 1976.

We didn’t have the window sticker, though. While opening the passenger door one evening, something blew out of the car—a yellowed piece of paper. Somehow one of the build sheets had broken free, and at that particular moment, it was making a run for it.

Wait, stop! Come back here!

We grabbed the crumbling piece of paper, got it home safely, and scanned it.

On a related note, we’ve been learning much on the Station Wagon Forums. We also found a neat Pontiac option brochure for 1975. You can see it here.
