There’s no car that’s quite alike this 1950 Delahaye 180. The King of Morocco, Mohammed V, ordered this transformable cabriolet new, with features unique to it.
King Mohammed V had this car built specifically for parades, so it has a long wheelbase. The back seat is lined in red leather, a perfect on-the-road throne for King Mohammed V. In fact, it was his first seat after being officially coronated as the king of the newly independent Morocco.
Historical value? Plenty, according to the seller. King Mohammed V used this en route to a “momentous speech” in Tangier, first official visit to Casablanca and the car has transported several heads of states and other notable dignitaries.
