Aston Martins often evoke memories of James Bond, though this 1987 Aston Martin V8 Volante has a more personal connection to the franchise–it was once owned by longtime James Bond producer, Albert “Cubby” Broccoli.
After a 15-year absence from James Bond movies, Aston Martin was reintroduced to the franchise in the 1987 film, The Living Daylights, with the V8 Volante. Broccoli loved it so much that he ordered one for himself.
Sotheby’s calls this a “well-preserved example,” with only 19,020 miles on the odometer. It carries the original colors of Cannock Black over Natural leather and retains its matching-numbers 5.3-liter V8.
Find this 1987 Aston Martin V8 Volante up for auction at Sotheby’s, with an estimated winning bid of £120,000-£140,000 (approximately $148,596-$173,362 USD).
