If you want your MTV (at least back when they actually played music), then you might want this Mercedes-Benz 250 SL. John Illsley, the bassist behind Dire Straits' 1985 hit “Money for Nothing,” is offering up this example after owning it since 2014.

Over the course of Illsley’s ownership he’s kept the 250 SL well maintained, to the tune of £73,402 (approximately $100,000) in receipts.

Illsley had converted the 250 SL from a California Coupe, as he had a soft-top convertible roof installed. He also had the matching-color hard-top roof restored.

Find this 1967 Mercedes-Benz 250 SL ‘Pagoda’ for auction at RM Sotheby’s, with an estimated value of £70,000-£90,000 (approximately $95,000-$120,000 USD).

Great band, excellent music.  That owner knew how to look after his car!

Animation back then certainly had a weird vibe - and this was cutting edge for back in the day.
