Corky’s comin’: Smell the rubber burn. Hear the women scream,” that’s the actual words from a promo poster promoting the 1972 film “Corky,” starring Robert Blake. This is the Plymouth Barracuda the titular character drives throughout the movie.

Harry Bentley Bradley designed the Barracuda. He’s best known for penning the initial line of Hot Wheels in 1968 and the 1995 version of the Oscar Mayer Wienermobile. George Barris and Richard “Korky” Korkes–who both worked on the 1960s Batmobile–built it. In fact, the Barracuda still retains its paint from when the two crafted the Barracuda. And it has signatures from Barris and seven-time NASCAR champion Richard Petty, who also appeared in “Corky.”

This Barracuda was a bit of a Hollywood darling. MGM Studios owned it for 17 years. The Plymouth also appeared in the 1982 TV series “Knight Rider” and in 1976 Sears Diehard commercials.

Find this 1967 Plymouth Barracuda Custom for auction at Mecum, with an estimated value of $100,000-$200,000.
