Any Ruf is special, but this one is more special than most–and not just because of the Lime Gold paint.
Nicknamed “Goldfinger” during its construction, the Ruf wore RSR-style wide fenders and front bumper. Instead of replacing the components, Ruf opted to incorporate them into the current car’s profile.
The car’s 3.2-liter engine was enlarged to 3.4 liters and fitted with an upgraded exhaust, boosting power output to 270 horsepower, 39 horsepower more than stock. Other notable upgrades include fitting the G50 five-speed gearbox with an upgraded clutch plus overhauling the suspension and brakes with improved Ruf parts.
Initially wearing Grand Prix White over a Can-Can Red interior, the car was finished in Lime Gold Metallic over dark brown leather with Pepita Houndstooth inserts.
In total, the build cost over €396,000 (roughly $466,000), excluding the cost of the donor car. Today, the Ruf has covered fewer than 5000 kilometers (approximately 3100 miles) since construction finished in 2018.
