Hey everybody, just wanted to give you a heads-up that tech inspection at this year's $2000 Challenge Presented by Tire Rack is going to be a bit different this year.

Per our contract and insurance requirements, NHRA staff must handle safety inspections of the cars. However, GRM staff will host an initial inspection immediately preceding NHRA tech. There, we'll ensure sticker placement, proper class registration, etc. The goal is to prevent the missing numbers and incorrect classes we saw last year.

GRM staff can't inspect cars for safety, but they will be able to reject any car for any reason without explanation, preventing it from advancing to NHRA inspection. Cars should be fully prepared to pass NHRA tech when they enter our line, as there won't be time/space for changes before you encounter the NHRA staff and we don't want to slow their inspection process down.

Thanks!

Is there a list of the dimensions for the stickers somewhere so we can better plan their exact location on our cars?

Are hugs allowed as bribes?

In reply to Bigben :

None of the required stickers (besides the windshield banner) will be more than 36 square inches.

The rules™ do not specify minimum clothing requirements during inspection

I think he meant bribes though, not threats.

In reply to Tom Suddard :

From what I'm seeing in the resource section sticker placement is completely up to the competitor as long as one of each sticker is placed somewhere on each side of the car. They no longer have to be grouped together in a vertical line. Is that correct?
