Week 7:  165.2 (-3.2)

Major improvement over the last week.  I still ended up eating out a couple times, but otherwise was very careful in counting calories, and worked out all but one day.  If I can keep this up, hitting my target weight before I leave for the challenge should be doable.

248.5

down 8.5 total since we started.  Had a couple weeks of relapse into using coke/pepsi to get me through long work days, and actually gained back to 253 because of that.  I'm back to only coffee/tea/water.  Have not had a donut for 6 weeks, even when offered.  I'm going to have one today i think, to prove to myself that it's ok once in a while and that I have the willpower to stick to that.

I vaguely remember going from 285-198 when i was 20, and i know 198 is unrealistic because i'm way more solid than i was then, but i think i can see getting into the 220's being attainable

3 lbs down!

Official weekly weigh in day was Friday. And I was 178.6. but I had gone out to the local pub with a buddy the night before. So I knew this week was better.

Yesterday was 176.6, and this morning 175.2!!!

I bet I'm dehydrated a bit so I'll gain some back but happy with that for now.

Donuts are delicious. And you're exactly right you don't have to go cold turkey!

My breakfast this morning is bacon, with eggs fried in the grease (and some cilantro on top for taste).

Finally got under 200!

Today was 198.2 and yesterday was 198.9, so I think it's real.

Another 2.5lbs and I'll be halfway to my goal.

Week 8:  165.2 (0.0)

I was doing well until I figured out driving my challenge car to Gainesville and back was a risky proposition, and there was a good chance I'd be a last place finisher anyway.  Eating junk food is one of the only vices I seem to have left, and I kind of indulged over the last few days.  I have 6 days left until I head to the challenge to spectate, so it may be difficult to hit my target, but I am going to try.

Still here, still working during the challenge.

I started at about 174, and was about 172 when this thread started. Goal was to get to 160.

I weigh in daily each morning. 159 the last three days. Shooting for 155 as my new goal.

Week 8.86:  161.8 (3.4)

I did it!  Six days in a row of exercising, not eating out, and having a spinach smoothie as the major part of a meal a day.  Counted calories very carefully.  The diet is completely suspended for the next several days during my challenge trip, but I'll try not to go too crazy.  Still have a bit of a gut, and not enough muscle, so when I get back, I'll be less concerned about losing more weight (except whatever I gain at the challenge), and more about improving my overall physical condition.

Last year, this did not go well for me, By June 2020 I was at 324 and hit my low point.

Started Noom 6/2, and added FitBit tracking for sleep and heart rate Aug 1.

I'm currently down 49 pounds and hoping to be ~260 by the Challenge. Which might shave a tenth here and there. <250 by end of year, and tentative goal ~235. We'll see how I feel at that weight. <250 for sure, maybe more like 225.

Noom has been a powerful tool to retrain my brain.

The FitBit and hourly reminders to move and step challenges, etc. as well as living next door to a community center that's mostly vacant except for sports practices... while working from home has made this possible.

I've got a bag of 100 calorie snack packs that I like to eat stuffed in the car for when I am working out an about, and am drinking water / tea instead of soda.

Anyone else have a Challenge weight loss goal for 2020?

Sadly, I’ve gained all the lost weight, and then some.  sad I’m up close to 180 right now.  No specific goal for the challenge this year, other than less than I am now

I'm 5'10 and was down to 153 in January from 175, now at 162 an its all belly fat. That morning soda habit is back as well as the extra junk food.  Water and rice cakes just don't satisfy...  I notice that I tend to gain 8-10 lbs over the summer and slowly shed it in the fall. Less beer and BBQ?   Can anyone suggest a low carb high volume food that is not a fruit or vegatable?

I default to cut Granny Smith apples or frozen grapes.

Popcorn is an option if you can stand it with minimal butter and salt. the Noom program gets the brain into a more mindful state of what you're eating and are you really hungry...

Raw almonds. Lots of good vitamins, low-carb friendly. Doesn't take too many to feel full.

Cool!

I think my minimal goal is to stay under 180 lbs before the challenge.  Losing some weight would be nice, but I will not bet on it happening.
