Ad says: This is a 1968 Triumph Spitfire convertible. It's been sitting many years. Floors are completely rusted. Would best be used as a parts car. Mostly complete except the front seats. Has its 4 cyl engine with dual SU carbs, Manual trans. 13" spoked knock off rims (5) and come with a title.

$500 CASH

I also have an old kit car body in which a lot of the triumph trim would work on, including bumpers, rear window and some other parts. The fiberglass body is a 1961-64 La Dawri Castillian. They were made to rebody a Henry J or C1 Corvette and some other cars. $1000 for the fiberglass body

Or $1500 for them both

*NMNA!

Totally cool.

Probably needs 10 years of work, but still way cool.

Those are the most thoroughly rusted out floor pans I've ever seen.

I think you are correct.

It doesn't have the dash of a 68 Spitfire.

I want that body so much.

Why would anyone rebody a C1???

In reply to SVreX:

Back 61-65 when these were made a C1 was just a used car that had been replaced with a much better model styling and performance wise.

My thoughts exactly. Those are definitely "completely rusted"

The new body looks kinda cool.

I wonder if that body could be made to fit a C4 Vette? Vintage looks and semi-modern underpinnings seems like fun.

Or a Miata.

I could offer storage of the body if you arrange transportation. I'm 70 miles away from the seller. (54913)

IT's a REALLY long distance (and hard to load).

My bigger problem is I've seen a lot of '60's vintage fiberglass bodies (and I own a few), and I've never seen one that was well constructed. The technology and techniques for fiberglass construction were simply not very advanced at that time.

I'd buy it if it was close. (I have a partnership developing with a fiberglass shop, and definitely have the resources to restore it better than new). But the (assumed) quality issues plus the transport make it a tough sell for me. (But I DO have everything Miata necessary to make it completely awesome laying in my shop, including 3 complete cars worth of parts, turbo setups, suspension- the works.)

I think I need to pass, but MAN I'd love to do it!

Thank you for the offer.

Wonder if the body has doors, hard to see anything that looks like doors in the crate.

Looks like it would be simple to grab when i'm up in Michigan if the ss badger lets you bring a trailer on it, otherwise the drive around and up through Chicago would suck. Ferry from ludington to manitowoc is almost straight across to appleton.
