I have a 700r4 from a 90 corvette rebuilt only a few thousand miles before the car was totaled.

It was built to handle a procharged 383.

For my application the bellhousing is wrong, and the input shaft spline is wrong.

Have a core from a 97 camaro that has the right spline and belhousing and my 3800 computer will run it

So my question is, what parts swap between the two?

So far, consensus in other places runs from: why the hell would you do that?

To: you can swap everything but the pump and the valve body and the 4l60 input shaft should hold up to 550 hp...

Sorry, this one is way beyond my knowledge. I'd think if anyone here would know it's either Patrick or Wheels777.

This might be better served being in the main forum.   I'd ask a mod to move it.

I would be quite happy with a moderator move to a better forum. Not sure how to ask.

I thought the 700r4 and 4l60 were the same, with the biggest change being the 4l60e was computer controlled?

We put a shift kit for a 4l60 in my 700r4 and the rebuild kit said it was for both

In reply to Justjim75 :

Rigjt. 4l60 was just a name change.

My friend has never done a 700r4 and is worried we will get it on his bench and then have to wait for parts.

Im sure we will get it done. Just would be njce to eliminate suprises.
