I almost bought a '78 about a month ago, but this one is way less. I wish it was closer.
shoot now that is a bargain! They're hardtop coupes, by the way. Very comfortable cruisers.
I found that anything 280 in the 80s is gray-market. At least, we regularly serviced a 280SE and we had to get chassis parts from a 450SL and engine parts from some mid-sized sedan from 1975.
Maybe it's only the DOHC sixes that were gray market.
Either way: Nice driving car, but sloooooooooow.

There were grey market and us 280s, i had a euro 280se with the higher compression dohc six. That one looks like us based on the bumpers, I can't see the headlights.

Maybe it was a 280SL... can't find the pics. Anyway, the owner died a couple years back and I keep scanning to see if it ever comes up for sale somewhere.
I keep having Visions of getting a 107 chassis car, a tweed hat, stringback gloves, and doing TSDs.

I can see the headlights now that I'm not on my phone, that is definitely a US market car.
This was mine, looked great but never ran right since I am bad with troublshooting CIS and give up easily.
Awwww man... I love old Benzs.

My mother had an 84 euro 280sl with a 5 speed manual. Small bumpers and euro lights. It was a really nice car. I don't know about the us version of the 280.
