283 and a carb? curious as to what they used for headers.

Is it really that hard to keep EFI on a SBC? Its pretty simple on the fords I've seen used as swap fodder.

Much easier and cheaper to make power with a carb, why bother with EFI on such a contraption as this.

With a 283ci, they probably didn't have a very advanced fuel injection system from the factory, if they did have one at all.

283 is just the displacement. efi came on SBC's from 1986-up and tons of aftermarket options. the same efi kit will fit a 267-406 sbc

I'd like a smallblock 2014 Kia Rondo.

In reply to Bobzilla:

But didn't the only EFI systems GM made then are the throttle body injection and the crossfire injection? Many of the Holley and Edelbrock aftermarket fuel injection systems for the small block chevy are $1100-2500. It would be much cheaper to get a TPI system from a early nineties Camaro or Corvette engine.

Actually, many aftermarket small block chevy EFI systems are $1100-5000. Especially the ones that are not throttle body injection systems.

I think Pinch is having fun ... Mr_Clutch is doing what you say by bumping all these all threads.

Can't see going to the effort of that swap and not putting in an LSx...
