So I'm looking into a Challenge attempt. Car in question is going to need an SBC. I have the L98 that came with my GTA. Has gasket matched stock iron heads, some sort of roller cam of unknown specs, and has been rebuilt at some point, bored 0.020" over with flat top pistons. All the oil pan, valve covers and timing cover came with it. I can get numbers off of the engine if that would help. Thanks in advance.

Edit: the engine currently doesn't have front accessories or an intake.

Doing a car-part.com search for specifical a TPI 350 didn't yeld much results. Only one with a listed price, and they appear to be asking $750 for a high mile enine with the intake, accessories, and harness.

A search for a normal truck 88-95 350 of course got a lot more results, large range but I did notice a large grouping of them around $350.

Marketplace search didn't have much luck on a TPI 350 either. But the 2 results I found were a complete motor with intake and accessories listed for $400, and a less complete motor with 4 barrel intake for $350 that the seller claims needs a bottom end rebuild.

If we search on market place for normal TBI 350s. I seem to see a lot of $300-$350 again.

I'm inclined to mark it down as $350, unless somebody objects.

Could always just list the Pull-A-Part price, probably in the high 200's. Maximum price 350 if you wanted to be safe.

In reply to maschinenbau :

In that case, they appear to have "8 cyl w/o accessories" listed as $159.95, plus an $8 environmental fee and $50 core, I get $217.95.

I think any number between $200-$400 would be totally reasonable

I'll put the pull-a-part number down and call it good then. Thanks for the input everyone.
