Possibly one of the finest examples left of one of the worst cars ever made. But, if the ad is to be believed, it's got the 2.8 V6, which was the same engine used in the Fiero, and other cars, up to about 140 HP or so. With a $750 buy in (and let's face it, you could probably show up with 5 bills and drive away with this car) you'd be in serious contention for the $1014 challenge. Or go hog wild and go for the whole $2014.

It sounds like you want to do this. Take a lot of pics of the build.

if you get it for $500, challenge as it, then chump/lemons it without theme, just with added safety equipment.

OK, I'll admit I have a morbid curiosity about this one.

That best describes my position, too. I wouldn't want this car if it were free, but it is a curiosity. 45,000 miles? Gotta be somebody's mother's car, garage kept for the past umpteen years. Probably still has non-ethanol gas in the tank and R12 in the A/C.

Come think of it, the '85 X-11 I ran in the 2003 OLOA wasn't too far out of challenge budget. Of course I didn't know about the Challenge then.

Hmmm...it's in Baltimore, but if my eyes are not failing me, it's got a PA antique vehicle tag on it.

Prolly posted in b-more to get a larger audience. There's still folks here that remember when Chevy used to build cars in Charm City.

This would make a great daily driver, but I see a supercharged 3800 V6 swap and leaving the whitewalls on it

We bought a X11 NEW in '81. Pretty neat car. I look every once in awhile to see if any are out there.

IIRC, from the Showroom stockers, aftermarket wheel studs are a requirement! Wheels fly off otherwise!

You'll need to log in to post.
