No, but he borrowed someone's wife and put her in a wedding dress so he had a stolen bride in the passenger seat.  I didn't catch her name, though.

the vettes had arm restraints. i actually saw the tech guy come back over and make sure they did. that was good to see at least.

I agree people should be more attentive to their safety. Coming from a drag race background i just build the car like i would if i were competing like i normally do that way in the end you don't have to worry about anything. it only takes one slip up to make you realize you shouldn't skimp on safety.

The short version:

We had a ton of fun and surprised nobody by finishing dead last. The trip home has been quite eventful.

Needless to say, the mustang will not be returning for next years revenge. It has passed into the next life. Hopefully to be recycled into something with a clutch pedal. Goodbye, little mustang. You were always fast enough for me.

*everything and everyone are ok. Two staples in my dome, dad was unharmed. Car is totaled. Life goes on.

Just finished pulling pics off the camera.  Not the best picture, but the Datsun looked like it was a handful.

In reply to eastsideTim :

Unless you have enough front spring/roll rate.... Don't install a rear sway bar.... and.... make sure the rear suspension will not bind up excessively.

Or add more power to the point that tires are always greasy and slides!

I'm a little miffed that the idea I've been harboring/pondering for 10 months, with no ability to execute until ~2023 has already been done.  albeit in a different way than I intended:

great minds think a like?  not as original as I thought I was?
