If you could raise your max to the 2k range there are a few '44s in the DC area.

The special Porsche tool isn't really needed, just makes it easier.

There's some cheap 924S/944 here on the West Coast, but transpo costs aren't your friend.

@ MO30. I have the "special" tools I can loan you if you want to show the kids them. BUT, as you know, you really don't need them. A BFH and a large screw driver and a couple of wrenches thinned a bit on a belt sander are all you need.
