yeah that would be fun cheap project.  Well cheap buy in.  I would have certainly bought it by now if I could.    Good to know where the floor is on these things however.  It's why I keep trawling CL for everything.

If that were near me it would be in my driveway probably. These things are soo cheap. Drop in a turbo motor from a later one, and I love the wheels. Unfortunately, these early ones really aren't any lighter (or cheaper) than the 99+ 9-3, which has lots of improvements over the 900.

For anyone considering this, the front bumper pulls off in less than 10 minutes, and the front two frame rails form a perfect surface to bolt a tow bar to. You don't even need to drill any holes.

You can tow this home with $60 for an HF tow bar and any car with a hitch.
