Typical 924 Newb Owner said: 1978 Porsche 924 This is a project car I have had for awhile. It cranks over but won't start. Something to do with the fuel distribution. It still needs tlc that I don't have time for. I bought another 924, so I have a lot of extra parts. I did buy a new fuel pump, fuel injectors, and battery. It will need tires. Just tired of it and want to move on. Call 309 2six5-8six01 Thanks for looking Brian PS. Don't need any help selling.

The SCCA D-production body kit is pretty rare and kinda cool.

This plus a 944 donor and an Audi 20V and you've got yourself a stew baby!

I probably shouldn't mention that the 2.0 takes really well to forced induction thanks to a US emissions spec that lowered the compression ratio and a head that doesn't flow terribly well.

The stock clutch holds upwards of 220hp before it tends to slip.

A blower off a Mercedes C230 is nice and compact to fit under the intake manifold.

A Honda H22 or Chrysler 420a/Neon/2.2/2.5 fuel rail will line up with the injector ports so you can convert from CIS to MegaSquirt or even Digifant from a donor VW if you were so inclined.

Is there room in one of these for a junkyard 4.8/4L60 ?

Please, don't get rid of the torque tube and transaxle, you might as well buy a Camaro at that point.

You can put a 4.8 in one using the same techniques as its baby brother, the 944: SBC/LSx Basic Conversion info

I have a couple of parts 944's now, but for some reason this damn thing keeps calling to me.... Stefan, how big a deal is the CIS to get working if a guy decided to keep it? Are the parts still out there?

It's essentially the same CIS K-jet stuff used on old VW's, Audi's, Volvo's, Mercedes, etc.

Biggest issues are poor electrical connections in the engine bay and in the fuse panel, gummed up fuel system, vacuum leaks and failed parts like Warm-Up Regulators, Fuel Accumulators and fuel pumps. All of it is repairable or replaceable, but for similar money, one could convert to MegaSquirt and lose the restrictive air flapper for a bit more power.
