Most of the spray foams I've used seem to continually expand for some time afterwards even past the time they're supposed to be fully cured. If it's the same amount of budget hit I'd probably go pink insulation board over spray foam personally.

A spray bottle with water can be used to stop the reaction (and expansion) on many of the expanding foam insulation products.

I built this beauty out of free pallet wood for a beater challenge. Somehow it survived something like 600kms and many gravel roads.

It was quite heavy we noticed a big drop in fuel mileage :)

The plus side is that it creates downforce even when you're standing still.

How many posts in before people stop pointing out the problem was rivets in the wood?  Do people really only read the first post and respond before thinking?

Ron Fournier has a good series of sheet metal and fab books any GRMer should own that DIYs.

Amazon has 'em too.

Congrats on the free wing.

I built an inexpensive wing for my exocar using a combination of simple welded parts and model airplane covering (21 Century Fabric). It has held up and looks cool.

The .030 aluminium is $0.30 a sheet, sheets roughly 24x40. Wood is free from any construction dumpster. Budget needs to be LOW..

I know this thread is pushing a year old, but would you mind sharing your source for said aluminum sheet?

Well, here's my max size wing made almost entirely out of free materials so far. It'll cost me a little bit to wrap it in fiberglass, but that's about it.

I found a great website for comparing airfoils and you can print out full size examples in whatever chord length you want, to use as a pattern.
