10 Years After....Or Part 2

To Shorten the Story a Few Years, This Isn't the First time I put A car Together For the Challenge, I built an X body GM (Skylark)to race at the Show and was told they were Full-up with Regsterd cars, I was told Half didn't Show. All Good.. It was A Hell of A car And I Chased Motorcycles through the Georgia Mountains For Years. So I'M 64 this year and Well there May be NO time to Loose, So I dragged Home an 84 Vette,got to Chopping(One day you all May Hear of My History with A Sawzall) the Car Had Most of a Shonida Body Kit on it so I've kept it. Sold Most Everything Else and am Way in the Black Budget Wise. I could really use some Help with(fiber) Glass work. All Ideas are welcome, but you know About Opinions, I listen to everybody... once, So I Have a Good 454 and trans to put in, Got a Killer Deal on Wheels And Tires, Money is A problem but I don't want yours, I could use Help Doing Body work and Stuff, But have raced cars my whole life and Know What to do. You mean separate paragraphs or list items with a double space. Yeah, never could figure out whats with that. Then again, I don't code HTML or whatever is being used.

As to the OP: What you wrote is titillating.Please do post lots of pictures. Us chickens have poor visualization skills and we like mechanical pornography. The more graphic the better.

I will try to do better. I just spent the last Hour typing, walked away, and it was GONE, That's depressing. I do have Pics and will post SOON. I live in a real Mayberry of a town in N.Georgia. Ball Ground, 1 4-way stop and 1 redlight it's Kool lots of car people but very few that like Road race cars. the car was sideswiped on the driver side not too bad, had it fixed before I decided to try the challenge again. the nose on an 84 Vette is just Too long so My Sawzall cut 11 inches off, then it went in Back and cut off another 7" I am setting the engine Back a good bit and will relocate the Rad. behind the front axel that allows me to drop the Height of the Hood Several inches at the nose. Have to do Flares for the Wheels 10"/12". Hope you all aren't Faint of heart. So got lots of Glass work, Heck I would like Someone that IS Good w/glass to just tell what I am Doing wrong. I attempted to Space out the words and dbl. space at new sentences, to no avail. Hey Nohome, glad it sounds Titillating, That's What I was Going For. For once I do have pics and need to load /sort/post, Looking for some used Coilovers and poss.4piston calipers for this car( 84 vette ) not sure what is available in the way of Larger rotors and Calipers and Junkyard stuff is fine. With a 454 engine and getting the weight down to the 3,000lb. area (hopefully less)and Fat Sticky tires. this could be fun John

You need to upload pictures using an external image host, if you don't want to make an account you can use a free quick one like imgur.com or minus.com

Then you can link as many as you want per post (click the camera button then post the picture's URL). I know imgur lets you do multiple uploads at once.

Best bang for the buck upgrade we did brake wise on our 88 time trial car was c5 calipers and rotors on the front, stock rear, and wilwood h pads. berkeleying thing would stop.

Played with tons of c4 cettes. Love them. Looking forward to seeing what you do with yours.

Didn't get the cobra in this time. Soon to come but for now heres the vette.

Depending on how you finish it out, that's gonna be pretty bad ass looking.

I will say that a cage adds a shocking amount of chassis rigidity. May want to consider that, or at the very least fabbing an lt1 convertable style x-brace.

In the Last Photo... Against the wall, Tubing For Full Cage,. Thanks, Former Racer here, "Don't Drive Fast Without One". The Nose Piece Starts in Front of the Tire (Immedeatley) And with the Rake of the hood the front fender Flares Start Pretty Quick Too. I'm Still trying to Get the Shape to end in a way I like, Before Committing to The Glass work. I do Have Another Hood though. The rear is a flat Duck Tail that will be Hung Right at the Back Glass (Like the old Can-Am Cars) That's Kinda all I can Do Make it look Kool as the Rules Dictate Lots of minor Chassis and Engine Change's but I Have A Truck engine(454) That should be about enough with some Brake and Susp.altering and removing Everything and replacing Only what it Needs to Run, Legal in Georgia that is. I will see if I can get Someone to Drop By and Hold the Nose and Tail for a pic.

Not that I'm Beyond a little Self-Promotion but I seem to be the only one reading this thread. If this car is too Boring for Ya'll...... I haven't been On a car site for awhile, I used to Hang At chevyhiperformance Mag. website and they had a lot of folks waiting to talk or offer help or even moral Support on projects that may have gone Wayward. Something I did not See is an Introduction thread. It was nice to NOT get Busted for Posting Before Intro's but I kinda miss it too.

We all follow. Most of us just don't have a lot to say unless we have experience with what you're currently doing. And if you're doing it right, we let you continue. Its not a lack of looking, but more a lack of noise.

Think of it this way: if youve got a 12 inch dinner plate, do you want 1/2 to be steak and potatoes, 1/2 garnish, or do you want the whole plate filled with steak and potatoes?

Unless its about social hot topics. But I stay the hell outta those threads. Tbey just get me all pissed off.

So, short version is that we're following, and youre doing it right, so not a lot of us have much to say. Also, the forum seems to be more lively during buisness hours.

Oh, and im picturing somethis c2 grand sport looking on the front, just without the funky vents. Or chrome bumper c3.

Loving the project so far. Serious chassis with emphasis on all the right things. This could be the whole package with performance and the good looks.

I'll agree with Dusterbd13 and add that if you don't ask any questions or ask for opinions a lot of us just check out your build and move on. I know in my own build threads I may post several times before anyone else posts but I know folks are watching it.

I've always thought these cars would look better with a nose job.

Not to worry, I have the same observation with my build thread. More people than you think are reading, but you wont get a lot of people chiming in if you seem to know what you are doing and just narrating. If you want input, you pretty much have to ask the hive to help with a conumdrum, otherwise we just admire what is getting done.

A views column on threads would be a nice feature for just this reason.

Well thank you, Thank you Very Much.. The Views feature was used at CHP and I liked the way they USED to have it set up a few years Back(Primemedia killed a bunch of there Rags)so they are No-more and I still am Learning My Way around this site. I grew up reading and Dreaming of the Road racers of Europe and the races of the 40's and 50's in F 1 or LeMan's cars and we did try it in the late 60's Local Ga.& Fla. but you could race for Cash at a half Dozen places near Atlanta on a Round Track so we Did. I still Can't Afford a SuperCar. This One Should Give 'em a Scare. This Front end Could Look some Like the C2 GS if you take a foot off the bottom to point it Down. We Got the Cobra Back from the Painter Today Pics to come. Plus there was this 'Ol Volvo there that is now a 302" mustang GT EVERYTHING and a damn Good Job of Building it,yep Got Pics. Tune in tommorow.

I'm trying to form a mental image of what it's going to look like when it's done, but, I just don't have a good enough imagination. Patiently waiting for more progress.

First I have to Assemble This Cobra,then I should have a few Bucks to play with. Nick, Nice Scooter.

what are you taking the pics with GTX? if it is your phone, you can set up photobucket (app) on your phone to automatically upload to photobucket. then open photobucket in your browser on your desktop and just input the HTML link on the right of the image you want into the post box. very simple very easy.
