Work on the spec house continues, kitchen is complete and ceramic tile and backer board stripped out of the great room and vinyl plank floor installed there. Started sanding the hardwood floors today got through the coarse and medium grits, will get the final sanding done in the morning. A few pictures of why my 240 is getting neglected right now.m

Well, a lot has happened since my last post. The house was nearly finished Tuesday, so we called the realtor to take pictures for the listing. Wednesday they took pictures and listed it while I had cataract surgery on my left (weaker) eye. I took it easy Wednesday afternoon and Thursday, Friday and yesterday I went back to working on the odds and ends left to do on the house (as much as practicable while staying within my post surgery restrictions). Friday we received an offer which we accepted Saturday. So I have a few things to finish up but we are nearly done.  I am having the other eye done this coming Wednesday. Closing on the house hopefully will be within a month. In the mean time I am light duty for 2 more weeks. My wife has suggested that I work on the GTO engine harness for the swap into the gold car when I am done with the house stuff. I even have permission to use the kitchen counter for the harness work!

The spec house has been done for about 3 weeks now. Currently under contract contingent on the sale of the buyer’s other house. We do have a clause that allows us to continue to show the house to other potential buyers and field competing offers. Hopefully It sells soon. Since the completion we have spent a week in Florida at a off road motorcycle training camp. We were supposed to be the nurse and mechanic combination. However at the last minute their cook canceled so we had the kitchen duty too. Fortunately my wife’s good friend had the week off and helped her all week long.  2 weeks at home after the camp. That time mostly spent on things at our home that had been deferred during the spec house thrash. Today I got a chance to do a little 240 work. Repaired a spot on the front wiring harness where I nicked it with the angle grinder during the battery area sheet metal repair. Whoops.. not too bad, one cut wire and one with insulation cut through. Tomorrow morning we leave for another motorcycle camp in Indiana. For now some house and car pictures:

The spec house has sold, closed this past Friday. Trying to get my shop back in some semblance of order. Have around 5 side ATV repair jobs I need to get done. Need to shuffle the gold 240 to the center bay and the black car outside. This will allow us to get the 1st gen S10 I co-own with my younger son in the shop to cage and back half it. I also purchased a drive on lift that I have to go get and bring back from Florida. Really wanted a 2 post however I couldn’t pass on the price of this one. The lift will go under the pole barn, so I need to get a slab poured to install it on.

I installed the fuel tank in the black car about a week ago. I painted the tank for the gold car and hope to install it in the next few days; if not tonight.

I ended up spending last week at my mother in laws place in Florida due to her having some significant health issues. Knowing I would be there for a little while, l took a wire harness with me to convert to a stand alone for the LS1 that is going into the gold car. The GTO harness original to the motor went missing somehow, so I am starting with a 2005 Tahoe harness. This requires a few extra changes as the LS1 is DBC and the Tahoe is DBW. So while I was there I got all the unneeded wiring pulled out including the circuits to the Tahoe throttle body and TAC module. I still need add the circuits for the TPS and IAC valve on the cable type throttle body. So now at least I got a good start on this.

Got the GTO motor up on the engine stand to help establish the layout and length on the harness. Also made up the TPS and IAC valve portions of the harness.

And the other day when I did not feel like looking at wires I started in on boxing the front LCA’s.

those look like standard bolts - don't forget when your 13mm doesn't fit too well!
