I think a weird quirk of the GRM forums is if you delete your account, all your posts go away also?  Same effect as a ban.

No, he must have gone through the (considerable) effort of manually deleting every single post one-at-a-time to remove all of his posts. We haven't banned him (or talked to him).

....and that's why I can't quit this place.....I'll spend the rest of my life deleting 10,000 posts.

I don't understand why in the multiple years this has been going on that a spring hasn't been removed and the suspension cycled with a tape measure handy.

So many issues would be avoided.

Also, what's up with blaming companies for parts not meant to fit this vehicle that don't, in fact, fit?

The mental gymnastics required to blame literally every company and technician that has worked on this vehicle or supplied parts for it and not think that it might be them is astounding.

I'm not sure where he got his information about RV registration and insurance costs.

For one, registration fees vary wildly by state.  Here in PA, it would depend some on how the original Transit Connect was titled.  As a passenger car or a light truck?  If the latter, then the fee for it being an RV is only $6 more per year.  If from a car to an RV, then about $40 more.

I've always read RV insurance is usually a lot cheaper than typical car insurance as they don't expect you to drive the vehicle very much each year.

I vaguely remember the first time he posted about this project... forgot he had deleted it.  Seems an odd fellow...

I agree - either a website blog or YouTube videos with the comments disabled.  I know of one YouTube RV creator who does that (and viewer blog posts are moderated/reviewed before going public).  I'm sure it hurts the channel numbers, but he makes videos for fun and not income so I don't think he cares.

He makes it substantially less interesting for me to ever again read his threads (except for the entertainment value of watching them implode).

I certainly won't be looking to learn anything about modifying a Transit Connect.  Total waste of time.

The Issue Is, If one has been given the option to delete ones own post, I may take that option and often, as the comments directed towards my topics is not very promising or very positive. I'm aware that everyone has a right to say what they will and it is my fault for not ignoring these comments and simply continued the build. Granted there's still a few bad apples here that continue to mock "MY" build. My objective was to touch someone with my ideas I've had over the last 4 years.. and if I touched at least one person and made them think, then I've done my job. I do not have the talent to rebuild an engine like many of you. I just wanted something different that handles like a sports car. Now that Ford discontinued the van, I can honestly say I have a one of a kind van that handles like a sports car.

So "The Let's Turn a Transit Connect Cargo Into a Sports Van Or Not Build", will continue on my Medium page.

For those of you who actually took an interest and took the time to asked legitimate questions, thank you.

The Moderators, Admins can do what they will with me..

No sir.

The issue is that you are judging a large group of people and assuming they are going to be critical of you or your build. You haven't stuck around long enough to get to know ANYONE.

I've been here for 21 years. There have always been good people who have sometimes made bad comments. Including me.  There have also always been incredibly valuable inputs from people. Some of them I like, and some of them I don't. Their input is still valuable, and I have grown to be a better person by listening to their input.

When you come here and deposit some gobbledly goop and expect everyone to applaud you, then delete your comments within a few days or hours you insult everyone in this community.

There are no bad skills. I don't care if you can build an engine. I care if you are prepared to interact with people, be part of a community, and grow with the rest of us.

You are acting like a disrespectful child. I think more of you than that. I respect that you are building what you would like to, and am interested in reading about it. When you delete your posts you steal from me the opportunity to get to know you, and disrespect me and the value that I may be able to contribute into your life.

How about participating in the community and listening to the wealth of information that is here?

If you don't want to be part of this community, you are free to leave. If you'd like to be part of it, you are more than welcome.  Your choice.   Don't blame anyone else.

I'll just point out that if you want only positive discourse (and have a pretty stringent standard of what that means), getting upset and quitting your threads is probably not the best way to achieve that

The best way to deal with cereal-deleters is to simply quote every one of their posts. No content is lost.

The only reason the threads continue without you is that the topic transitions from your van to your behavior. The content of your threads hasn't been an issue.

Thanks for giving me a reason to delete my comments.. because they've been hidden due to many down votes..

While everyone is at it, why not down vote my two main threads

https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/suspension-developing-a-set-of-rear-lowering-springs-for-a-2020-connect/275126/page1/

https://grassrootsmotorsports.com/forum/build-projects-and-project-cars/suspension-exploring-the-rumored-focus-rs-sway-bar-mounted-on-a-transit-connect/275130/page1/

Which ones are downvoted?  Thats usually only if someone says something political or devisive.

I did exactly that back on page 1 but apparently one of the superpower holders decided it needed to go.
