I remember seeing your truck in the GMT400 thread. It looks great! I really like the earlier front grill/light style on them better, too. Even this deep in, I think if a good deal came up on an solid RCSB roller (preferably stepside), I'd jump on it, and pull the engine/trans out of the S10 for it. I'd rather have an S10, as I like the idea of a small 3000 lb pickup that has some utility, but also hauls ass, but the fullsize would be a lot easier to put together. I wish you luck if you do ever get a hold of an S10, they are about the perfect size for a daily driver with occasional use as a truck.
I think there are a few factors in my problems, as it seems like I've had the most problematic LS swap I've seen in an S10 (or I'm just a drama queen ). I strongly suspect my truck just happens to have too many tolerances stacked in the wrong direction. With how tight everything fits, fractions of an inch count. Maybe related to that is my header selection, they force the engine far back, which required more hacking up of the heater box and made the shifter linkage bump against the head. That wasn't the only reason I switched to a floor shifter, but was part of it. Finally, I went with a 4L80E. Would've been no problem in a GMT400, but the S10 would have been a lot happier with a 700R4 or 4L60E.
