DB10 back in, made a couple of jumper wires and tested the windshield wiper motor and mechanism with my battery charger and they move smoothly so I’m not fooling with them. Removed the hood/bonnet/frunk latch seal as the screws were quite rusty, removed the wiper spray nozzles and cleaned them in the ultrasonic cleaner and some other misc. stuff. Trying to do all this while the dash is out because no room under it ....

This stuff is boring, tedious and more time consuming than I always think it should be .... still plugging along ....

Adding lightness .... working on new door hinges using spherical bearings instead of the stock setup, if everything is in perfect alignment with the stock setup the door will pivot on the rods, if not perfect and there is any binding, the rod spins in the bobbins in the body and elongates them causing the door to sag, plus these are stainless on stainless, can you say gall? My son 3D printed ASA bearing holders for me this weekend from my drawing (this is an an idea from Hachille, a Europa owner in France and Richard) with some modifications by me. Stock setup is 24.7 ounces per door new setup is 4.3 ounces per door. The spherical bearing are rated at 940 lbs static load each and using grade 8 hardware.

This a stock 1/2" rod that goes all the way through the door for both pivot points.

Back at it ….. touched up black paint in dash area as I may be running without a dash pad for a spell and didn’t want to see bare fiberglass. Hood latch seal reinstalled (what a bugger to do by yourself!), washer nozzles (bugger again), defrost vents and heater box. Hope to have dash in within the next week and then onto door installation.

I must have gotten in and out of this tiny thing 50 times today .... tired now
