Just a small update.

I picked up a little 110v flux machine and managed to get the cage welded in, Put a cross bar in the front to hold the Radiator, some stubs out the back and reinforcement bars in the front to build a cage in the "Trunk"

The welder thought it was a rented mule and the generator I borrowed worked well for what it is. The tubing is 1.75X.120 and is probably the max that welder can handle. I will have to buy some more steel plated gold tubing and finish the front soon. The rear section will have to wait until I get the engine back in.

Just a little update. I had to consolidate the truck so I figured it was time to stick the bed on to see how I am going to brace it up.

Took the sazall and deathwheel and made a couple cuts.

I am going to bolt the bed to the cab since everything is going to be a stressed member with eachother, but the bed will be removable, Im going to run the campershell.

Its been a few months since I had a chance to work on the truck. I had a few hours on Sunday so I uncovered it and did a little to it.

I threw the suspension on it and got it down on its wheels to see where I needed to trim still.

Cut the bed for the rear tires and marked out where the front will need some love from the sawzall.

You can see the longer wheelbase and I think I will like the way it rides. A lot less overhang, matches the front much better.

What's your plan for the fuel tank? (I probably missed it.)

I grew up in the Tujunga/Sunland area. Commuting back and forth to Westlake must be a bitch.

For a fuel tank I am looking into a replacement stock style from a Mustang, older Vette or Jeep if there is enough room, I want to avoid using one of those cheap cells everyone is using. If I go that route I'll get a fuelsafe or similar, Whats another few months of Ramen when it comes to safety.

I ride a motorcycle as my daily, its still a pain but at least its better on gas than the old Suburban and I get to split lanes on the way home. Not too much traffic at 3am.

Hardest part about living there is keeping all my stuff mine. The homeless kids are getting out of hand and I dont know how all the tweekers are coming up with rent money besides stealing everyones stuff. My neighbors across the street have started to rent their front yard out to tent campers so I now have a storage unit for all my tools and parts. Makes it a pain in the ass to have to haul everything back and forth but I cant afford to replace everything again.

On a good note, one of my Rattlesnakes had her babies and a few came out albino again so I will be able to afford another tubing bender in a month or so when I sell some little ones.

Just an update on whats been happening in the day to day of Mullettruck.

Unfortunately this is not a update on the truck.

Sorry for the long read

I went to the ER a couple weeks ago under the direction of my coworkers. We had a big job coming up and they needed me there..

I went in because it was to a point where I couldn't walk with out a lot pain in my hips and groin area, I almost had to crawl to the admin desk. I thought I was going in just to get some pain killers a little stronger than Tylenol 850.

The did the usual check your vitals and brought me in the back. they did a couple scans of my hips/groin area and drew blood. I sat waiting for an hour or so while all the test results came back. When they came back to the room the DR was wearing a space suit!

They went to explain that I have a severe blood infection and would require more testing and they wanted to hit the sepsis hard right away. That involved a massive dose of IV fluids. The first round was going ok until I started having a hard time to catch my breath. I buzzed the nurse and by the time they came back I was basically drowning. They went into freakout mode and ended up pumping me with lasix and other diuretics. after a couple hours I was able to finally catch my breath and calmed down, then they did it again! at least this time they stayed in the room to catch the drowning sooner. When I called them out on it the dr said it needed to be done to help flush the sepsis.

From there they admitted me.

Over the next few days I went through a couple 4hr sessions in the MRI, 3 Bone scans, CT scans, Xrays and a lot of blood draws they determined I needed to go under the knife. The went in around my hips and scrubbed and sucked any infection from the bones they could reach just to get a head start on the infection clean up.

It turns out I have a hard to treat MRSA blood infection. I have CDC people talking to me around the clock.

During all this they tried to get a handle on my diabetes numbers since I was a captive patient.

One of the side effects of the flooding was massive heart and kidney failure and severely damaged lungs from the flooding. so now I have that to deal with now too.

Im on full time oxygen and a very limited diet. Have a battery of tests still and hospital appointments. I have to give myself IV antibiotics twice a day for 8 weeks hoping to get the Blood Infection under control. Chances are pretty good my Job is gone but that will have to be seen.

I came home a week ago but had to go back in for a few days for more testing. Im back homebound now for 6/8 weeks.

It will be an interesting ride.
