I’d like to see the salt water solution in the budget for $.03 and the copper wire.

But he found the wire in the trash.  $0.  The salt isn’t in the mix either, it’s a tool to break down the copper wire.

He is definitely taking the half budget thing a little too seriously. Tinting your own paint is a new level of crazy even for Mr. Stampie.

I’d like to think I know him pretty well by now, this is definitely his kind of crazy

We went to the donut shop for our normal breakfast and out back is a dumpster. With permission of the workers we grabbed some wire.

Next we hit up Hobby Lobby and Home Depot so we could scale up our experiment.

We did mix what we made last night with a little white paint. Yeah we're going to need a lot more.

After lunch I noticed the finish was rough. I rubbed it with my finger and got this.

Definitely need to figure out how to crush it into finer powder.

That sounds like work.  I was thinking rock tumbler with BBs in it.

What happens if you liquify the powder with whatever you use to thin the paint?

In reply to gumby :

We actually were just discussing this. Since it's an oil paint we still need to dry it to powder form to get all the water out.  It's not soluble in a thinning agent but hopefully we can break up the clumps enough it'll smooth out.  We've had today's reaction running for several hours. We're going to let the copper oxide settle so that we can get the water off easier.

Brand it as "Stampie's Patina Paint"

After I traded some beer for wheels this evening I stopped by the local grocery store.

That lead to our first video of the evening.

Will embed once fixed.

The right foot is hot rod flames cause that's my gas foot.  The left foot is a traditional design with little piggies on the toes.

Not when he is asking 12,500 and said the super charger cost his 14,000. I’d offer 1150 and say I though you added an extra 0.

I always love when we start putting stuff back together. We finished up the passenger camber mods and pulled the driver's strut this morning.  After lunch we modified the driver's tower and got it all back together. Driver's side went a lot faster than the passenger side. Here's some highlight pictures.

Hey Stampie

I checked with the safety guy at work, and he said flipflops >>> barefeet, but are still unacceptable foot protection , especially with a vise, anvil, front strut or other heavy elevated object nearby. (Freiburger is a bad role model.) But, carry on, Sir!

I only wore flip flops Saturday because I got a metal splinter in my foot Friday. We're recovering from a party yesterday evening but hope to get some time on it today.
