Been fighting a cold this weekend but I was able to pair down the stock main engine harness to keep the gas gauge, reverse lights, and speedo. I studied the wiring diagrams a good amount and took my time in the spaghetti. Hope I got this right. The alternative is a $450 Current Performance "integration harness" that takes 6 weeks to build. Hard to tell, but the foreground is what I removed. I'll tape and loom the harness this week.
Milestone this weekend. Got the engine in the truck and bolted in place. Passenger side header bolted in and a few other things. Truck is back in the garage and in the heat so hopefully I can chip away at it in the evenings.

More progress. Truck is wired. Thinned out stock harness is in the bay and it's much better than before. Need to add fluids and put the starter and exhaust back on. Waiting on a new fan connector so it's looking like next weekend for 2025 fire up.

Did not. I need to finish bolting on the exhaust and add fluids. That's it. It's been sitting like that since April 6th. Kid's sports, kid's musical (x2 - I know the words to Alice in Wonderland by heart), and a week long trip to Florida have stalled me. Hoping to work on it tomorrow (Saturday) but nothing guaranteed given how crazy busy my life is.
The Earl Truck has been brought back to life. On Easter. How fitting.
Truck runs well. Got it up to temp after the lifters about clattered out of the block but it calmed down and got quiet relatively quickly. One little coolant leak and we're all fixed. Fans came on with no issues.
Went for a spin around the block and it's apparent how bad the old engine was. This thing rips compared to the old low compression engine.
Next steps are get it inspected and get the interior cleaned up a bit. Still have the passenger side RX8 seat to install.

Hell yeah!! Send me a couple logs whenever you get a chance (idle,cruise,wot). Did you ever gets fuel pressure sensor on this thing?

Plan is to drive it this summer and enjoy it. Maybe get tires for the 17" Tahoe wheels I have but not a requirement.
