so I can run 245's or 255's squares now. Thats a thing. I didn't install the fronts. It looked to goofy unless I am running 9"'wheels and 275's. I don't have enough power to do that.

I'll disagree slightly. One of the best things about the Miata is not having to slow down below the speed limit to take corners in town. 
 

Now, interstate ramps suck if there's any traffic, and there's no way I'd push my luck out in the country since I'm sitting about the same height as a deer's nuts, but it's great around town.

Still rubs a little when heeled over, on gas hitting large bump. I think I'll raise it tonight to see if that helps. Or smash it with a hammer more.

alright, it appears the cam cover leaks may be fixed with quality gaskets (who knew?). New problem... car smokes after hard cornering. Not just one direction... needs to be a hard left/right and then back on the gas. smoke screen for about 5-10 seconds. One direction does not cause it.

Intake was clean when I pulled it to change rear cover gasket. no real presence of oil. Thoughts? I think I'll start with a new PCV (cleaned the old, but they're $10) and then maybe a catch can to see if its being sucked into the intake now. 

Thoughts? 

catch can installed. Rear cam cover gasket replaced again. The timing belt side half moon missed the bitches when installed the last time and cut the gasket. 

also out double sided tape on the flares so the ends weren't sticking out any more.  
 

So here is what made me so angry and burned half a quart of oil into the header/block in 15 miles....

that's supposed to look like this: 

to be able to see that required puking the upper timing cover. To pull the upper timing cover you pull the aero belt and p/s pump. 

Yesterday was fun. jacked the car up, raiesed the rear suspension one more time. Loaded up the jack and impact and headed to South bend. Picked up the new shoes (RS-4 245/40/17) for a ridiculously great price (Thanks "Brad"!) and headed to a friends house to install. 330 miles total. the last 40-50 on the new tires. 

Thoughts: Suspension needs to be dialed back a hair. Ok, 3 hairs. IT's a bit overactive and rough when the roads get bad. IT's loud. 255's are WAY too much tire for this car on the front. I fought it for 280 miles and my arms felt it. The 245's with shoulders still were so much easier. 

New tire thoughts: none. It's pouring here so no chance to play with them. They are quieter than the previous set and I fight the wheel less. I haven't died on RS-4's in the rain (they're actually pretty good IMO) and they seem to have better grip.
