And the special tower of power. At this point we ran out of wire so off to Home Depot.

All welded up.

Mounted to the seat.

Bolted into the car.

I was pleasantly surprised to find that out of the eight mounting holes, seat and car, only one had to be drilled out one size over for wiggle room.

And that is how we take all day to mount a seat.

We spent the evenings this week putting together some stands. Hopefully we'll have it up in the air tomorrow.

Yeah that'll work.

Edit. Ok maybe not. Tire is on the wrong side.

Wow. The snorkel/race tire combo is really something.

Finished. It took a little creative lowering on the last tire. Redneck stuff I wouldn't have done if anyone was watching.

If I'd known you were going to turn this into a championship race car, I might have used something more precise than a plasma cutter to drill that snorkel hole in the fender.

Hah, nice!

Once you have those stickers, you have an instant defense when you get trapped in conversation by a tin foil hat person. As soon as somebody starts telling me their whacky conspiracy theory, I like to launch full-tilt into an honest explanation/defense of and invitation to the Birds Aren't Real conspiracy.

It is amazing how much money the government is spending to discredit the "Bird Truthers".

It really makes you wonder.

Have you ever wondered why birds fly into glass windows?

They're attempting to spy on us, that's why.

Got up this morning with the plan to lower the front end. Should be easy enough.  First I measured the top of the rim to the fender lip. 9.75 inches. Next I located the torsen key bolt, determined that it was 18mmish and went to loosen it. WTF it's tight. Damn POs and their impacts. Sure it's easy to do when you have a rack and plenty of room under the car but not so easy on a dirt driveway. Broke out the breaker bar cause there's no way I can fit my impact under there. Got it loose. Used my SC education to count 11 turns out (yes I had to use my toe) on each side. Took it for a spin around the block and measured at 6.75 inches fender to rim. Nice easy 3 inch drop.

During my drive around the block I kept hearing water sloshing around. Seemed to be coming from the passenger door. Sure enough a slam of that door confirmed it. Broke out the drill and there you go.
