Spent a minute or 60 working on the trailer hitch. Mapp gas and BFH for the win!!!!
But, is it too rusty to use for tow dolly work????

Doesn't look too bad.. but it is hard to see structural vs surface rust in a picture...
Bahhh it will be FINE.
Spent tonight helping art. Should spray tomorrow.
Anyway someone could link how to gut and rebuild the doors on these? Power windows. Have to swap all the guts from the old door on the ground to the new door shell on the truck. Never done anything like this on one of these.
I've replaced door handles on those trucks before. Much cussing and bleeding was involved, and it has been YEARS, but as I recall, the playbook went roughly like this:
Drill out rivets, cuss, cut yourself, say a swear, pull window channel, cut yourself again, blaspheme a good bit, reassemble, put big sheet metal screws where the rivets used to be, curse the day you were born, and finally say something very mean about GM window engineer's parents.
I do realize you said windows, but the procedure is roughly the same. Maybe save paint for afterwards.
All the threads look great, by the way. You are an inspiration to us all.
We started spraying and my phone died. Lost the picture. Then the bugs invaded. We're going to wait until morning.
In reply to wheelsmithy :
Hopefully an inspiration to limit yourself to one project at a time! 4 active builds right now, all coming close to completion. Makes for an awfully cluttered mind. At least my construction project (Carport) is finished except for another load of gravel. Pinata (dd miata) on hold until truck done. Duster on hold until wes gets some time. Challenge car is in paint, and dad's working on the engine.
Far too busy for my own good.....
I'm really looking forward to seeing it unwrapped and in the daylight!
Hopefully it looks even better then

and......?
Raining there too?
Read all the way through to here. I don't know how I missed following this, especially since I have a GMT 400 myself. I've learned some useful information (my windshield leaks in the upper corners).
Great work, well written and well documented. I'll be following from here.
It's home. Now I can start reassembling things and adjusting fitment and figure out why the brakes feel like they have air in them. I'll do a legitimate full update post shortly.
In reply to Dirtydog :

lastly, we did a quick cut and buff on a quarter. Didn't even really try, as the paint is still a little soft according to art. So well do the whole truck in a week or so. Then a full detail.
