Knocked a strut brace together and decided to ditch the edis setup and go straight to 585 LS coils.

Anything but wiring!

Fantastic project!  yes

I've always loved the Mk1 Capris... mine was stolen and trashed in the mid 80's, and I've always wanted another, but it's just never happened.

A couple months ago I looked at a "roller" local to me, but ended up passing... needed too much, and I have too many Miatas!  It was in far better condition that what you started with here, though.  Now that I've found this thread, I'll be watching with great interest, and not a little envy... cheeky

Done right they look awesome. 1st port of call though is get shot of the us spec bumpers as they are hideous.  I'm removing all trace of badging and being rare will have serious anonymity

Absolutely!  Mine was a '74 also, with the gigantic bumpers... yours looks fantastic with the chrome 1/2 bumper on the front... reminds me of a Mk1 Cortina.

This thing is amazing.  I’m really looking forward to seeing how you tune this beast.  I bet the engine plus turbo plus supercharger noise will he unbelievable!

Tuning will be fun for sure. Glad I went with the Ms3 pro now to avail of the extra tuning features.

Its gonna sound insane I reckon. These chargers when bolted up to a flat flange without the sound baffling chambers they had from factory really do whine. Couple that with air thats already pressuised so its under more load, plus turbo BOV, plus 3" exhaust with straight through mufflers.

Hopefully get it rocking this summer cause if I get any older the noise may be an issue!

Awesome! I'm currently working on cleaning up the wiring and installing the standalone on my 2.3, I hope I have as much luck as you!

I just noticed your modified intake inlet. Do you have any more details or pictures on that? Did you custom make it? Eventually I'll likely want to do something similar for packaging and better boost pipe routing.

I made it from some aluminum elbows.

A 4" 90 then a 4-2.5 reducer with a flamge for the cosworth yb throttle body.

Ported the lower section but its still gonna impede the flow I reckon..

Meaning all the bends in how you have it will impede the flow?

It looks like some tight turns, but fairly smooth at least.

Andrew, if you need one, I have one that was cut and rewelded (commonly done by the T-Ford folks), not by me and probably needs some porting and cleanup, but you can have it for free.

Multiple Capri owner here and I am envious!  I did a turbo 2.3L swap into a '76 Capri II. Never finished it but did about 95% of it. I sold it and the next owner got it running.  Currenty working on a Califonia '74 V6 that's been sitting for 25+ years.

Not nearly as rusty as yours was, in fact almost rust free compared to yours! It does have some crash damage that was repaired in a half assed way and that will have to be fixed at some point.

First it's rebuild/replace all of the mechanicals to get the car running and driving.

Im getting about 4psi from the charger alone. Gonna do a leak test to make sure its all plumbed proper then put the spring back in the wastegate.
