I stumbled upon it due to the listing (inaccurately) categorizing it as an XJR model.

The car's in California, so sadly with shipping, I doubt it'll end up selling for an all in number I can justify.  So, no I'm not bidding, but hopefully one of you Dorks on the West Coast can scoop it up. wink

I would be ashamed of what I would do for a Daimler 2.5 V8.

I didn't sleep well last night fantasizing about this car & scheming about how to drag it back to Indiana.  I went as far as to get a quote on a one way rental from U-Haul and a trailer.  $2,349 plus plain ticket.  The car is 2,039 miles from me.  Insert sad face sad

That's a transplant right?

Three or four years ago, someone locally was selling a Mark II with a 3.8 liter I-6 and a floor shift manual (I can't recall if it was a four or five speed).  It was one-owner, all original.  Service records since new.  Shiny but not perfect paint.  Running condition. Recently but not currently registered.  Same color as the one above.  The disclosed flaws were all really minor stuff (I don't recall exactly, but think like a passenger window that would fall off track and a leak in the power steering hose).  Asking price was $3,000.  I didn't have room in the garage for it so I didn't even call.  It was gone in a few hours.

It's at $2,050 right now..... If it closes close to that, someone is getting one helleva good deal.

I shouldnt ask but if I wanted it, could someone here buy it and I pay back plus a  fee?   Im working and the last time I looked into bidding on copart it seemed very difficult.

Definitely did not have the reserve when it was originally listed.

I did it... placed a bid.  Equally hoping that I get it and don't!

I don't think I did.  And my reaction just showed that I really did want it.

im a little confused though...  the website of the broker I used said that my max bid was $2600 (which I think is the $50 increment over the $2550 bid that showed when I placed my bid).

but I'm confused because I set my max at $4000???

I managed to look at the auction and see what looks like a sale price of $4050....  which means I was likely the second highest bidder I guess.  Or there were others with a max of $4k

but I'm not sure why it said my max was $2600??  Anyone know how these things work??

regardless, I really hope that the winner doesn't show and I get a call about it.    Doubtful....

the bummer is it didn't sell a few weeks prior for $2xxx, if I'm reading the listing correct.

"Sale has ended.  On Approval".    No price shown, no idea what that means.

I think the "On Approval" means the reserve wasn't met but the seller may choose to contact the bidder(s) and either negotiate a sale or offer it for their bid price, it's up to the seller. (And again, I *think* that's what that means. My Copart buying experience is zero.)
