I've got some pictures of an MGA on a Miata rollerskate. Spoiler alert: the Miata is a lot wider than an old MG :) If you like poke, it's got poke.
I kinda want to put the MGA chassis under a Miata. Just to mess with people. It would be the most hilarious Lemons car ever. Though I'm not sure the MGA suspension could handle all that fat Miata weight.

Actually, that MGA is far enough gone that I wouldn't mind splitting it down the middle and widening it 6"-8" to fit the Meotter running gear.
I bet it would end up being reminiscent of a Daimler SP except without the hideous.

that is what fender flares are for... 3" flares on each side will fix that problem...
and look... Que Es Mas Macho
Question is where does the Miata need to be lengthened? Front of firewall or behind the seats?
This MGA was widened to make room for v8 goodness. Not a fan of the grille, but the rest works just fine.
You're assuming the whole Miata floorpan gets transferred. Just chop the PPF, extend it and do the same to the driveshaft. Easy peasy. Firewall is just whereever, that's the engine's problem :)
I have to dig up those pictures of the Miata-suspended MGA. It's quite something.
In reply to NOHOME :
I can't imagine it's anywhere but in front of the firewall.
I would just move the front subframe forward the amount needed by the extended wheelbase. Leave the engine to rear wheel spacing the same so the driveshaft /PPF are OEM. Then the motor mounts would just need to move back on the front subframe 4" or whatever the WB extension is.
Assuming this has a title if it was closer to me I would probably bid up to $750 or $1000 for it. But I'm not driving to DC for a project I don't need.

That is probably easier, just slide the subframe forward and extend the steering column.
I was looking at pictures of my car. I think I flared by 4" to clear stock Miata wheels and tires on the B. That car is 2" wider than the A to start with, and a couple of extra inches would have also come in handy to clear beefier rubber.

So you know how I've been talking about an MGA on Miata subframes? I just found the folder of pics, and that's one of them :) I've got 50 pics of the build and end result for anyone who goes down this road.
There is some sexy...
