NMNA, I don't know if this a deal or not.  It looks like a cool Mini built under license.  $15,000

1972 Innocenti

David Wallens had one of these.

I remember I sent him a brochure I had of that car.

I have a '73 Innocenti 1300 Export.....These were considerably nicer than the English built Minis of the same era, with full instrumentation, roll up windows with vent windows, extra SS trim, leather interiors, 1275 GT motors with full synchros and more. Mine also has the optional Hellbore leather steering wheel, right side fuel tank and a set of Abarth Cromodora wheels.

If you could, $10K would be a steal in today's market for classic Minis.  $15K is actually not a bad price if the car is rust free, runs well and has a clear US state title.  I've seen much higher asking and sale prices.

In reply to MiniDave :

What's the right side fuel tank all about? Is that an extra fuel tank or just switched side to side?

Just extra fuel capacity....the factory offered them on the Cooper S starting in 64 I think. It's a completely different tank design in many ways, not just mirrored to the left side one. No cut out for the spare tire, for example, and the sending unit is only in the left tank. It uses a common fuel pipe too so as you draw down the left tank it pulls the right one down the same amount. Kinda fun filling them too -  as you fill the left tank it (slowly) tries to fill the right one! (the pipe is only 5/16" ID)

Mini went thru several fuel tank iterations, the early cars only had a 5 gal tank, hence the need for the extra ones on higher performance engined cars that used more gas. Later cars came with up to 9 gallon tanks, so the extra tank really isn't needed.

Here's a pic of both tanks, and yes it does take away some boot space...this car has the 9 gallon on the left and the 5 gallon on the right.

In this pic if you look thru the windshield you can see the full instrumentation these cars came with - water temp, ammeter, oil pressure, tach, speedo and fuel gauges.....no other Minis had this comprehensive instrumentation. Early Minis were like VW Beetles, all they had was a speedo and a fuel gauge.

The black car in the ad is a Mini 1000 BTW, much less valuable than the 1300 Exports or any of the 1275 Innocenti's but still relatively rare in the Mini world. The ad doesn't zero in on the details that mark this as an Inno, but they have a different decklid ( lic plates are shaped differently in Italy than the rest of Europe), different lights - including the round repeaters on the front fenders - different head and taillight assemblies, the triple instruments, vent windows (note the missing SS trim around the front window compared to my car) and a few other little tell tales like the turn signal switch and wood steering wheel..
