This is a solid car. No rust. Good top. Decent interior. But none of that matters to you. You want to know how hooptie is it? Or what theme could go along with this and earn my team the $1000 "Best Costume" prize money in Lemons? I was thinking about a "Sideways" theme for it. The SAAB 900 convertible played a significant role in a movie and hasn't been done that I'm aware of. Act out scenes from the movie all weekend...except for the crash scene.

Honestly, this is a pretty decent, straight car. Too good for Lemons...other than it's not running right now. The car got hot, and I did not catch it. Prolly needs a head gasket. But I bought it from a friend in Atlanta and drove it across country without any difficulty prior to that. It has been parked in a garage since. ~235k miles.

This is for sale for Lemons/Challenge money to a Lemons/Challenge team who will rally or race it. We just completed our first rally in the Kim Jong Elantra; so, we know you could also do both.

$750.

What's it look like now? Pretty much the same if you can imagine it with an inch of dust on it.

That car looks super clean for the miles.

It could be just a run-of-the-mill bad HG, but the 2.1L NA motor in that car has a rep for going bad: the block corrodes at coolant passages; a new HG won't fix it. The block can be repaired by brazing: https://townsendimports.com/Web/2point1_Block_Repair/saab_2point1_block_repair.htm - scroll down for "next" buttons to see pics. I have no idea how hard this might be.

Saab also had a service bulletin that specified JB Weld (https://townsendimports.com/Web/cooling_system_folder/2.1jbw.htm); my recollection is that it's not much of a solution, but it's been a while since I was paying attention to this sort of thing.
