There's a E24 that's only a bit more than that in my region...

Not that I have anything like four digits worth of cash available regardless...
Looks cool and comes with some neat stuff...but you'd think you could get some better photos before making the trip, lol.
There is almost zero chance this thing actually has "no rust." It might be less than some, but the rust was practically installed at the factory on ANYTHING the big three built in '83, right?
I'd be trying to lowball him if I didn't have 2 foxbody projects already working.
If you're serious enough, I may be able to find some time to head down there and take a look and take some pics.

You're kind to offer. Just wondering what the conventional wisdom was... If I had money and knowledge and skilz...
The I6 cars had a different "frame mount" for the engine mounts. One of the V8 K-members included with the car will swap in to make a V8 fit nicely. Most Suspension theory and parts apply to the Fairmonts the same as the Mustangs and Capris. I don't know if a Mustang exhaust kit would bolt on without modification. I know on my Fairmont Wagon, the mustang system needs some length added to fit properly.
In my experience, they're not hard cars to work on in general. I had one in high school and college. When I got back into one a couple years ago, it was a familiar, easy-to-work-on feeling.
Ad is a little weird. Traction bars, on a 4 link rear? "C4 AOD transmission", which is it?
If you really want a Futura, I would say sure. If you just want a Fox-body to beat on, I would skip it, and spend the same kind of money on a 94 or 95 Mustang GT.
Okay, what about this one, Clem? It's LOCAL! Room for the kids and their assorted E36M3!
Wikipedia sez it didn't come with a V8 in the US, though, so the question is what 6 did it have and can I get a V8 that'll hook up...? Any Ford gurus around?
That car has made the rounds lately, it seems (on craigslist). It was advertised last with a V8 in it. It'll probably be challenging finding a good hood for it...but it is a Fox body and a cheap entry price. Ford V8s are plentiful.
I don't know about Wikipedia's info. Some of those did come with V8s. Not sure on the years and such...but they did come with them, I'm pretty sure. A 255 ci V8 in some cases.
As I said before...they really are easy to work on. A lot of stock fox body cast off parts (stuff people are taking off to upgrade) can be rounded up cheaply to use getting one like this running.
The problem with these, in my opinion, is they are hard to find good used stuff like interior and body parts. I mean...who has a GOOD interior on one of these things anymore and is willing to sell parts? But...if it's serviceable now or can be fixed up without too much fuss...game on!
The last add is the same as my parts car. 85ltd wagon. Should be the wonderfully crappy 3.8, good news i have an entire front clip that will fit!
I got my parts wagon just for the interior. Body panels and interior panels are hard to find, exspecially quarter panels and doors for wagons.
The zephyr/fairmont atleast has fiberglass front clip options thanks too the futura/z7
