I have no idea about the Boxster market however.  I'd try it for a year or two at that entry point.

I've seen high mile drivers for under $4k. 

I missed out on a clean IMS fixed S model for $7500 in the fall.

Agree, seems overpriced especially with some interior damage. Also, I don't think there is a cheap fix for the passenger side window not dropping (caused by one of the microswitches in the door handle, usually).

Boxsters are cheap.  Boxster problems are not cheap.  That’s why I just spent 4 days learning how to rebuild these engines.  The one you want is a 97-99 2.5L car....  just in case you decide to go spec boxster racing.
