A potential "wheeler dealer" car for somebody feeling adventurous. Unlike many listings like this, the car is being sold by a dealer so it looks legit:

FWIW, Clinton Acura isn't far from where I work if anyone is interested. 232K miles. Damn...

That's a LOT of miles on an NSX.
Still, how much could a new transmission be ... ;)

I really must wonder what it will end up going for and how much fixing all that stuff will cost.

Well those bidders just went nuts.. 500 to 12,000 with 6 days left. There won't be any profit or much of a deal left in that car come auction close.

Over 14 now. Just don't think it'll be worth it.

20010-PR8-A00 is the part number for the trans, suggested retail is $8342.51.

Does it actually need a trans? Or just clutch/flywheel, slave, and master?

As it approaches $20k for a 230k mechanic-special, I really wish I had purchased one in the economic slump of 2008/2009, when decent drivers were approaching low $20k and had 150k miles.

In reply to crxmike:

16.3k today. From the question at the bottom it sounds like, and I might be stretching here, the dealer was the one doing the maintenance on the car so the records might be available and it might only be the items listed.

I wish I had the means to buy one of those when they bottomed out a few years ago.

The listing said: Q: So it runs and drives? or is there a major transmission issue? The description is very vague. The timing belt and wp are due? or did the timing belt break? Chris Nov-08-14 A: Hi, The car runs and drives. However, the transmission needs major work as described in the listing. It will drive but I wouldn't trust the trans to get you to far. The timing belt is NOT broken. We recommended to the previous owner to replace the timing belt & water pump since the engine will have to be pulled to do the trans work & radiator. Feel free to call me with any questions. Thanks, Ed Acre Clinton Acura 855-891-0297

the list of cars I'd pay 16k for knowing it needed a transmission is VERY short. An NSX ain't one of of them.

Indeed... wow... considering there are cars with a lot fewer miles for not much more money, I can't see how this car won't be "in the red" once it's finished. Well sold. I'm betting it being sold by a dealer had something to do with the strong price. I don't think a private seller would have done as well.

232,000 miles in an NSX sounds freaking awesome. Kudos to whomever chose that over a Camry for their DD.

So not 20k worth to me.
