For Sale: 1964 Volkswagen European Version Type 3 Squareback - Variant 'S' Project. This is a rare VW and has lots of potential, especially with Type 3's going up in value in the last several years. With floor pans and normal "fix-from-sitting" things like brake hoses and stuff, could be a patina driver, even.

Likely, it should receive a total restoration, but the engine is free, and the trans shifts into gears, but no real condition info past that. Wheels have been powdercoated and new tires mounted. Comes with Euro bumpers, bumper overriders and Euro taillights as well.

Hard to find in any condition.

$3500 obo

(Also have a 1970 T3 Squareback project)

Typo - this is a 1970, not a 1971 as noted in the title.

For Sale: 1970 Volkswagen Type 3 Squareback Project with MANY new parts

This is a project from Colorado, that was DRIVEN from California by the PO. He disassembled it and bagged and labeled parts, even parts he know he wouldn't be re-using. Makes reassembly and inventory much easier for the next owner.

He also spent over $4500 (in 1990's and 2000's dollars) in NEW parts that are all included. New interior (headliner, seat covers, cushions), new rubber seals, new chassis and brake parts, chrome trim, etc etc. Receipts for new parts included. Has powdercoated wheels and new tires (white walls are just removable inserts).

Body is overall solid and straight. Has some pinhole rust through in the pans (new pans included) and some rust in the rear most side window seal area, and the front clip was replaced by PO. Original clip, with VIN tag, included. Another pair of fenders included as well. Check out the photo bucket album if you want to see all the parts included. LOTS. Engine case and some engine parts included, transaxle included, new clutch, etc. This is a super project for someone looking to build a great Type three - the cost of the parts today is around $6000, plus the cost of the car, plus the cost of the used parts included, makes this an wonderful deal for someone looking for a Type 3.

$2500

Check out Photobucket for all the photos - lots more!! http://s61.photobucket.com/user/greggearhead/library/BP/1970%20VW%20T3

Bump for the 1971 project with more $$ in parts than asking price.
