I was tempted to buy one of these cars, but came to my senses in time. The hapless one that I came across had been modified by removing the roof (owner wanted a convertible, I guess) and had acquired a later V8 engine.  Someone should have saved that car, but it turned out that I wasn't crazy enough to attempt it. Probably go broke trying and end up with a bastard that had little value.

Yeah, you probably made a good call on that. Once the roof's been removed and the original engine gone, there's no going back.
